Behind the Dreams

While observing the beauty and grace of wolves in the Canadian Rockies and researching their behavior, I was inspired to create wolves in my paintings. In the painting series, Behind The Dreams wolves are shown with human hands which adds a curious dimension to the image and hopefully evokes in the viewer some questions.  The insects depict a psychological landscape of contrary and complex aspects that to me comprises the aspects of the human spirit. Some insects are shown as aggressive, but when held by the wolf, express a protective close relationship. The wolf’s vulnerability and fragility is shown by the addition of butterfly wings. The landscape elements show a   consistency and timelessness in nature.
